The 30 Day Photo Challenge Day 6

Today’s challenge was a low angle.

Here is the best I got:

It isn’t the shot I was going for, I tried to used a wider depth of field so I could get crisp lines in the background and foreground, but couldn’t manage that without getting a dark shot. It was strange because it was a sunny afternoon. Just a little more I need to learn about my camera. Any advice?

I have been using the aperature priority and shutter priority settings, but I am thinking of jumping off the deep end and trying to master full manual. Any guidance?
